XV Congreso Latinoamericano de Avicoltura

We are pleased to invite you at the scientific talk held by Dr. Chad H. Stahl “FACTORES DE ESTRÉS A TEMPRANA VIDA SOBRE LA SALUD INTESTINAL A LARGO PLAZO.” sponsored by Vetagro and Vepinsa, that will be held Wednesday 27 at 10:30 am in the Hall México.

Dr. Chad H. Stahl, a New Jersey native, received his B.S. with honors in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 1996 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He began his professional career as a Biologist with the Center for Veterinary Medicine at the FDA in Rockville, MD. In July 2002 he began as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University where he received the College of Agriculture’s Early Achievement in Research Award in 2007. In August of 2007 he accepted an Associate Professor position in the Department of Animal Science at North Carolina State University and was promoted to Professor in 2013. In 2015 he accepted the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Throughout his research career, Dr. Stahl has focused his research efforts on conducting novel dual-benefit research with the goal of improving both the sustainability of animal agriculture and improving human health. Dr. Stahl’s primary research interest is developmental nutrition as it impacts the development of bone, muscle, and adipose tissues. His recent work in this area has focused on the impact of neonatal nutrition on the activity of tissue-specific stem cells (satellite cells and mesenchymal stem cells). Secondary research interests include the gastrointestinal health of pigs and the development of novel alternative to antibiotics
